Laura Fenzl
President 2013 |
Laura is the youth/young adult
minister in Rhinelander Wisconcin. Currently working with Confirmation programs and retreats, Teen Life in
the Spirit weekends, teen evangelists leadership training, and middle
and high school formation programs/events. Her greatest love is middle
school ministry, learning/service, and mission work with families of St.
Anthony Mission in Mandaree, ND. She helps with Christian Life
Camp for the children of the Fort Berthold Reservation. She came to a closer personal relationship with
Christ by way of several college teammates and the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes. At St. Paul’s in Ham Lake, she was introduced to the
Charismatic Renewal and the power of prayer and Eucharistic grace in
everyday life. |

Mary Hagar
Past President 2012 |
Director of multiple religious education programs and teaches in adult
outreach & catechetical programs in three Catholic parishes. She is a
long-time Charismatic Renewal leader, a member of the national Alpha USA
Catholic Team and consults with Alpha International. She is a frequent
presenter at various national evangelization schools; with Deacon Mike,
they attended Renewal Ministries Schools and they together founded CORE
Ministries in 2004. |
Pete
Fastner |
Past Charismatic Renewal Board Chair, has been involved with the
Charismatic Renewal for over 30 years, beginning his journey with the
St. Paul CYC prayer community in the 1970's. For over 20 years he has
been a leader in the Epiphany Prayer Group in Coon Rapids, Minnesota,
where he lives with his wife, Ellen and their youngest son. Three grown
daughters live in other parts of the country. Pete works for the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency as a watershed grants coordinator for
programs designed to protect and improve Minnesota’s lakes, rivers and
streams. He has given numerous teachings at local teaching conferences
and to different groups in this area concerning topics relevant to the
Charismatic Renewal, including the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Gift of
Prophecy, Charismatic spirituality, and Hearing the Word of God and
acting on it. |
Deacon
Mike Thoennes |
Ordained
in 2001, serves in Confirmation & adult education programs in multiple
dioceses in MN and is the Faith Formation Director for St. Isidore the
Farmer Area Faith Community in the New Ulm Diocese. He also serves as the liaison for the Catholic Charismatic
Renewal Board in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis & assists
in diaconate formation for the Diocese of New Ulm. He has presented
talks at various conferences and is a co-presenter with Mary Hagar at
Renewal Ministries’ Schools of Evangelization. He serves on the national
Alpha USA Catholic Team. |
Sylvia Hoff |
Member of St Raphael Church, Crystal, MN, since 1979.
Serve as Eucharistic Minister and Homebound Eucharistic Minister. Member
of St Raphael Prayer Group.

Mary Nawrocki
President -elect 2014 |
Served on the Board of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Office for over
15 years. She experienced the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1973 and has
been active in charismatic renewal ever since. Mary is a member of the
Immaculate Conception Prayer Group, where she serves on its core group,
in the music ministry, and as occasional teacher. She is the Faith
Formation Director at her home parish. Mary is originally from Puerto
Rico. It was there that she met her husband Larry Nawrocki. Mary and
Larry have four adult children and five grandchildren. |

Peter Yurek
|
Past Chairman of the Board, 2010-2011. An
active member of St. Peter's Church in North St. Paul. He has held a
leadership role in St. Peter’s prayer community for the past 10 years.
His deep faith and commitment to Christ is a foundation in his life.
Peter’s life was changed in 1985 when he attended a retreat at what was
known as the CYC in St. Paul. That encounter with Christ changed his
focus and put things into a new perspective. He and his wife Colleen
strive to raise their three children in God’s love and patience. His
love of the Lord continues to grow, as he constantly seeks to come
closer to Jesus. It is most important to him that his faith be reflected
in his life, and his greatest joy is sharing Christ with others. |
Maria Gonzales

She has been involved in the Renewal for 9 years. Maria
was born in Mexico, grew up in Texas and spent a good part of her adult
life in Chicago. She has lived in the Twin Cities for 13 years. She has
helped to plan retreats for the Hispanic community,
especially for married couples. At the present time she runs a daycare
from her house with her husband, Vicente. More than anything, Maria
loves to bring souls to Jesus. |

Sister Mary Anne Schaenzer, SSND
|
Has experienced the
Charismatic Renewal since 1968. She served on the steering committee of
the Association of Diocesan Liaisons from 1987 to 1993. She served on
the NSC Advisory Committee and later on the NSC Council from 1992 to
2002. Sr. Mary Anne was elected to the National Service Committee for
Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the United States in 2002. Sr. Mary Anne
currently serves as Pastoral Associate at the Church of the Holy Rosary
in North Mankato, Minnesota. Her past experience includes teaching, full
time work in Charismatic Renewal, hospital/hospice chaplaincy, pastoral
care to the Sisters in her own SSND community healthcare in Mankato,
Minnesota and parish ministry including R.C.I.A. coordination and adult
faith formation. |

Jolene Carpenter, Administrator |
Jolene was led to Charismatic Renewal in the mid 80’s, a discovery that
changed her life. She served for several years as a member of the core
group for St. Edward’s Prayer Group, which later became the Praise Jesus
Prayer Group at St. Bonaventure in Bloomington. She and her husband,
Mike, have two grown children and one grandson. Jolene works with the
Board of Directors in their evangelistic outreach throughout the area,
bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit
to others who are seeking a closer relationship with the Lord. |

Mary
Kohlhaas |
a board member since 2010, Mary has been active
in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal since her college days at both the
College of St. Benedict in Minnesota and Franciscan University of
Steubenville in Ohio. As a Youth Minister for over 25 years, Mary has
been involved in all aspects of youth ministry from evangelization to
discipleship to sacramental prep to summer missions. She is a strong
advocate of relational ministry, believing it to be the foundation of
all other ministry. She is a strong advocate for the Charismatic
Renewal, believing it to be an empowering of individuals needed to meet
the obstacles and attacks on one's Faith these days. Mary is presently
working as the Director of Evangelization and Catechesis at Sacred Heart
Parish in Waseca, Minnesota. |
